The history
of the Mesaba Labor Coalition is rooted in the Mesaba Bankruptcy,
which began on October 13, 2005 and ended on April 26, 2007. Agreements
were reached with each union during November 2006, and put into effect
on December 1, 2006.
During
the latter months of 2005 and virtually all of 2006, the members of
the Coalition met at least weekly to share information, organize events,
and plan a common strategy in the fight to defend our contracts.
